MASSINGILL MASTERS MOLER FOR USAC MIDWEST THUNDER SCORE
Williamsburg, Ohio (July 14, 2023)………Bryce Massingill scored his season-leading fourth USAC Midwest Thunder SpeeD2 Midget feature victory of the season on Friday night at Williamsburg, Ohio’s Moler Raceway Park.
Massingill (Troy, Ohio) became the fourth different leader of the 25-lap race, taking the lead with six laps remaining to earn his second victory of the season at Moler.
Starting fourth, Massingill initially worked his way to the front on lap 15 after Aaron Leffel (Springfield, Ohio) led the first four and Stratton Briggs (Anna, Ohio) led laps 5-14. However, Massingill’s first lead was brief, lasting just a single lap before Briggs took over on lap 16. Briggs headed the field until lap 20 when Massingill assumed the top spot for good.
Briggs crossed the line in second with Ian Creager (Covington, Ohio) in third, Josh Yenser (Plain City, Ohio) fourth and Gunner Lucius (Delphos, Ohio) rounding out the top-five.
Point leader Zach Wigal (Belpre, Ohio) made a furious charge from his 22nd starting spot to finish sixth, which earned him Performance Powder Coating Hard Charger honors. It also kept Wigal afloat atop the standings by a slim six-point margin over Massingill.
