STANFILL MAKIN’ MOVES TO WIN AT MACON
Macon, Illinois (August 30, 2020)……..Bryan Stanfill captured his third USAC Engler IMRA SpeeD2 Midget victory of the 2020 season Saturday night at Macon (Ill.) Speedway.
The California native, who now resides in central Indiana, started 5th in the 20-car field while third-starting Mark McMahill charged early to lead the first two circuits. Cody Gerdes, who started on the outside of the front row, then surged by McMahill on the third lap to secure the lead.
It only took Stanfill three more laps to reach the top spot as he drove by Gerdes and led the final 15 laps of the 20-lap feature over Shane Morgan (Creve Coeur, Ill.), McMahill (Peoria, Ill.), Daltyn England (Springfield, Ill.) and Gerdes (Eureka, Ill.).
The evening saw four flips during the night of racing. Matt Durbin was injured in an accident during the third heat race. Continued thoughts and prayers are extended to the Stewardson, Ill. driver and his family.
