SPEED2 MIDGET RACING PREVIEW: AUG. 29-30, 2020

ENGLER IMRA SPEED2 MIDGETS

Macon Speedway in Macon, Ill. is back in action this Saturday, August 29, with the sole appearance this season by the USAC Engler IMRA SpeeD2 Midgets.

Tyler Roth (Springfield, Ill.) captured a wild feature one year ago in the series’ debut appearance at Macon, which resulted in a cage match of sorts between the 23 feature starters.  USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget veteran Karter Sarff (Mason City, Ill.) took the early lead, controlling the first three circuits before yielding to Adam Taylor (Dwight, Ill.).

Taylor held the lead for just two laps before hitting the cushion and flipping on the sixth lap.  That sent Roth to the lead for the ensuing restart.  Brayden Gaylord (Madison, Iowa) also found misfortune after flipping in the main event that was shortened from 20 to 15 laps.

Roth controlled the remainder of the way to take his first career IMRA win over Jake Sollenberger (Canton, Ill.), Daltyn England (Riverton, Ill.) and James Picardi (Peoria, Ill.) while Tyler Kalb (Columbus, Ohio) rounded out the top-five.

Six total divisions are in action this Saturday night, presented by Skeff Distributing Company, Inc. and Budweiser with the IMRA Midgets joined by the DIRTcar Pro Late Models, BillingsleyRewards.com Modifieds, DIRTcar Pro Mods, Archers Alley Street Stocks and DIRTcar Hornets.

Pits open at 3pm CT, with stands opening at 5pm, hot laps at 6pm and racing at 7pm.  Adult general admission tickets are $15 with children 11 and under free.  Pit passes and tickets will be sold at the gate on raceday.
