BRIGGS BAGS MIDWEST THUNDER WIN AT GAS CITY

Gas City, Indiana (September 13, 2019)………Stratton Briggs chased down Aaron Leffel with seven laps remaining to capture the victory in Friday night’s 20-lap USAC Midwest Thunder Speed2 Midget feature event at Gas City I-69 Speedway.

Point leader Leffel (Springfield, Ohio), who won in May at Gas City, led the first 13 laps before Briggs (Anna, Ohio) took over control.  Briggs’ third victory of the season allowed him to close the gap on two-time and defending series champion Leffel in the season standings with just 25 points separating the two and just a pair of races remaining.

Briggs and Leffel were followed to the line by Nate Foster (Greenwood, Ind.), Gunnar Lucius (Delphos, Ohio) and Chett Gehrke (Broken Arrow, Okla.).
