DMA, EASTERN AND IMRA ON TAP AS SPEED2 MIDGET SEASON HEATS UP

DMA, EASTERN AND IMRA ON TAP AS SPEED2 MIDGET SEASON HEATS UP

Speedway, Indiana (May 28, 2019)………Three races in three different parts of the country, in Vermont, Virginia and Illinois, make up the USAC Speed2 Midget slate this Saturday, June 1.

The USAC Dirt Midget Association (DMA) series is back at their home track of Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, Vermont.  Seth Carlson of Brimfield, Mass. and Will Hull of Plainfield, Vt. took each round for the series at Bear Ridge in the month of May.  Both drivers come into Saturday’s race knotted up at the top of the standings with 225 points apiece.

The USAC Eastern Midgets are back at Shenandoah Speedway in Shenandoah, Virginia this Saturday for the only time this season.  Sam Hatfield of Mooresville, N.C. won the most recent series visit one year ago.  Hatfield won this year’s season opener in Dillon, S.C. while Chris Lamb of Colfax, N.C. was victorious in the last series race in Rougemont, N.C. in April.  Concord, North Carolina’s Alex Murray is the point leader coming into this weekend.

Andy Baugh of Mason City, Ill. puts his winning streak on the line this Saturday in the USAC IMRA Midget debut at Macon Speedway in Macon, Illinois.  Defending champion Baugh has won the first two events of the season and leads the points arriving at the series’ third event of the year.

Pits open Saturday at Bear Ridge at 3pm (Eastern), with front gates opening at 3pm and racing beginning at 6pm.  Adult general admission tickets are $10, students 12-17 general admission tickets are $8, seniors 62+ general admission tickets are $8 and kids 11 and under general admission tickets are $2.  On the Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Night card along with the DMA Midgets are the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, C.A. Miller Limited Late Models, Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes and Peanuts Auto Four Cylinders.

Saturday at Shenandoah, the pits open at 11am (Eastern), with practice set to begin at 2:40pm, drivers meeting at 3:10pm, qualifying at 5pm, opening ceremonies at 6:50pm and feature events beginning at 7pm.  Tickets are $7.50 for veterans and kids and FREE for wounded warriors, first responders and active military.  Pit passes are $30 apiece.

Macon’s Five Buck Night this Saturday with IMRA gets underway with pits opening at 4pm (Central), grandstands at 5pm, hot laps at 6pm and racing at 7pm.  Grandstand admission tickets are just $5 and the night will feature a bike giveaway to the kids and donated by the drivers.  Street Stocks, Hornets, Decatur Building Trades Pro Late Models, BillingsleyRewards.com Modifieds, Neal Tire & Auto Pro-Mods, Sportsman and Archer's Alley Street Stocks are also on the docket.
