RACES AT LEGION, MADERA (2), MONTPELIER & SPOON RIVER LINE UP SPEED2 MIDGET WEEKEND SCHEDULE
USAC Speed2 racing visits New Hampshire, Indiana, Illinois and California this week as championships continue to be hard-fought. Dean Christensen leads the IMRA series to Legion Speedway in Wentworth, N.H. Saturday. Other Saturday races find Aaron Leffel leading the Midwest Thunder series to Montpelier (Ind.) Motor Speedway and Dillon Morley leading the IMRA series to Spoon River Speedway in Canton, Ill. Jesse Love IV leads the Western US Overall and Pavement standings to a Friday/Saturday doubleheader at Madera (Calif.) Speedway.
Chase McDermand of Springfield, Ill. won last Saturday night’s 25-lap USAC Deery Brothers IMRA Midget race at Spoon River Speedway. Five drivers led Saturday night’s feature, with McDermand taking the lead from Andy Baugh on lap 20 and leading the final six circuits to beat Baugh, Adam Taylor, Brent Burrows and Broc Hunnell.
Joe Krawiec of Bristol, Conn. won Saturday night’s 30-lap USAC DMA Midget race at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, Vt. He led the final 14 laps after passing Manny Dias on lap 12. Seth Carlson finished second, ahead of Dean Christensen, Adam Whitney and Derek O’Hearn.
