IGNITES TO SKAGIT SATURDAY;

KRACHUN, COLSTON & RAIN WIN IGNITE EVENTS

Honda USAC Ignite Midget racing focuses on Alger, Wash. this Saturday where the Washington Ignite series will compete at Skagit Speedway. Chase Goetz of Snohomish, Wash. continues to lead that series’ standings.

Ryan Krachun and Parker Colston recorded victories in Honda Ignite action last week while rain interrupted a third scheduled event.

Krachun led all 40 laps on Friday night’s Eastern race at Chemung (N.Y.) Speedrome. He was trailed by Chris Lamb, Blaine Leydig, Tyler Corriher and Wil Raber. Saturday night’s Eastern event at Mountain Speedway in St. John’s, Pa. was interrupted by rain after the heats had been conducted.

Colston, of Lake Elsinore, Calif., won Saturday night’s 20-lap Honda USAC Western Ignite Midget race at Bakersfield (Calif.) Speedway. He passed Cory Elliott on lap three and led the final 18 laps to beat Christine Breckenridge, Jarid Blondel, Alexander Bissett and Elliott. Bissett led the opening lap of the race.

The Western series resumes August 17 at Santa Maria (Calif.) Speedway and the Eastern series resumes August 16 at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, N.C.
