USAC NOS ENERGY DRINK MIDGET NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT
Formats may be altered from base formats listed here at the discretion of the chief steward.
**The field will be split for Thursday and Friday’s racing program with half the field competing on Thursday and the other half of the field competing on Friday.
**8-lap heat races. Points for the heats will be accumulated by finishing position and total number of positions advanced. Cars will be positioned into qualifying races based on the passing points accumulated in the heats.
**10-lap qualifying races. Total points from heats & qualifying races will be added together to set the starting lineups for the semi & the feature. The top-16 overall in accumulated points will start straight-up in the first 8 rows of the feature.
**12-lap semi-feature. The top-6 finishers from the semi will transfer into the feature & start in positions 17-22.
**30-lap feature. The top-3 feature finishers will be locked into Saturday’s feature. Feature finishers 4-17 will start in one of two semi-features on Saturday. Feature finishers 18-22, plus finishers 7th on back in the semi-feature, will start in Saturday’s C-Main. All USAC National Midget licensed drivers& entrants will receive 50 appearance points.
MIDGET TIRE RULES:
Left Front: D12 or D15
Right Front: D12, D15 or D20
Left Rear: D12 or D20
Right Rear: SP3 only
**Right-rear tire will be stamped to be run during qualifications, heat race and feature.
**Changing tire will result in being put to the tail of feature. If a tire is punctured, it must be verified by series official and replaced with an used tire.
