SPENCER LEADS CRA SPRINTS TO TULARE THUNDERBOWL

MILLER TAKES “SALUTE TO INDY” AT THE PAS

The Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint Cars visit the Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif. Saturday and Mike Spencer will try to hang onto the series lead, which now stands at eight points over David Cardey and 10 over Blake Miller.

Miller, of Yorba Linda, Calif., passed Greg Bragg on lap nine and went on to win Saturday night’s 30-lap “Salute to Indy” Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint race at the Perris Auto Speedway. He was followed by Bragg, Garrett Hansen, David Cardey and Rip Williams.

Spencer was the fastest qualifier and finished seventh to retain the series point lead. Miller piloted the Roy Miller Freight Lines/DWT Wheels Sled/Downing.

Last year’s race at Tulare was rained out and Saturday’s race could serve as a tune-up for the upcoming November “Pacific Coast Nationals” at the 1/3-mile dirt track.
