Mohave Valley, Arizona (October 12, 2024)………He’s won everywhere man.
Ricky Lewis (Camarillo, Calif.) added on to his astonishing win total throughout the 2024 season by adding an Avanti Windows & Doors USAC CRA Sprint Car feature victory to his checklist on Saturday night at Arizona’s Mohave Valley Raceway.
The win was his 20th total sprint car triumph of the season, which ranks number one in the country. His latest came after leading all 30 laps from his outside front row starting position. The win was a repeat performance Lewis as his only other previous USAC CRA career victory came at Mohave Valley on this same weekend one year ago in 2023.
Lewis has now won sprint car features with seven different series in 2024, including two different USAC divisions. He’s won with BOSS, ESCS, GLTS, MTSC, POWRi WAR, USAC Midwest Wingless and now USAC CRA. His win list for the year includes victories at 13 different tracks spanning six different states in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Texas and Arizona.
Recently joining Tom Dunkel Racing, Lewis won for the same team one week ago in the Eastern Time Zone at Indianapolis, Indiana’s Circle City Raceway. One week later, the same team and driver were victorious in the Mountain Time Zone.
Following Lewis to the finish line at Mohave Valley was David Gasper (Goleta, Calif.) who earned hard charger honors in memory of Jim & Chet Gardner after starting ninth. R.J. Johnson (Laveen, Ariz.), Cody Williams (Norco, Calif.) and Charles Davis Jr. (Buckeye, Ariz.) rounded out the top-five.
Logan Calderwood (Goodyear, Ariz.) earned his first career Woodland Auto Display Fast Time Award with USAC CRA. He is the series’ 92nd fast time driver. Johnson won the FlowDynamics, Inc. / Sexton Fire Protection / In Honor of Wiley Miller Sr. and Wiley Miller II First Heat Race. Eddie Tafoya Jr. (Chino Hills, Calif.) captured the BillsJerky.net / Factory Wraps Second Heat Race. Austin Williams (Yorba Linda, Calif.) scored the WC Friend Company / In Memory of Jim and Chet Gardner Third Heat Race.
