Marion, Indiana (April 2, 2025)………Abby Hohlbein will pilot the 2A as a second entry for Scott and Dana Benic of 2B Racing to compete in select USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship events throughout the 2025 season.
The 18-year-old Cloverdale, Ohio native, who will join teammate Kale Drake on the 2B Racing squad, enter the 2025 season looking to continue her momentum and growth behind the wheel of a sprint car. After earning 2024 Great Lakes Super Sprint Car Series Rookie of the Year honors with a wing, Hohlbein now looks ahead to the new challenge.
“I am excited for the opportunity to race with a well-established team and car owner,” Hohlbein stated. “I can't wait to get this new chapter of my racing career started. This season is going to be a new challenge for me, and I'm ready to get in the car and start this race season!”
Hohlbein has also been named the 2020 USAC Midwest Thunder SpeeD2 Midget Rookie of the Year, and in 2021, scored a memorable victory aboard a midget in the Kokomo Klash at Indiana’s Kokomo Speedway.
Benic, the 2005 USAC National Chief Mechanic of the Year, is looking forward to teaming up with Hohlbein.
“As an entrant that has been doing this racing thing for many years, we have been moving our focus on scouting talent into the D2 midget and Micro sprint world the last few years,” Benic explained. “Having Abby join our team in the 2A and run alongside Kale Drake in the 2B should make us strong contenders for years to come. Dana and I are excited to be working with young talented drivers to continue to make our 2B brand stronger and stronger.”
