3-WEEK "LAYOFF" ENDS FOR CRA SPRINTS AT PERRIS SATURDAY

3-WEEK “LAYOFF” ENDS FOR CRA SPRINTS AT PERRIS SATURDAY

The 2012 AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series, after a three-week layoff, returns to action Saturday night in the “California Racers Hall of Fame Night” at Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway.

Series point leaders Mike Spencer of Temecula, Calif. and Nic Faas of Huntington Beach. Calif. will try to keep their stranglehold on the track’s victory lane. Spencer will aim for his fourth consecutive win at the half-mile dirt oval, while Faas will try to repeat his series-opening victory from February. Spencer leads Faas by 74 points in the latest standings.

Spencer continues to chase Damion Gardner in terms of all-time USAC/CRA victories at Perris. Gardner has 25, while Spencer now has 20, including seven in the last two seasons.

The night’s racing program also includes the PAS Senior Sprints and California Lightning Sprints.
