WESTERN SPRINTS RETURN TO ALL AMERICAN SPEEDWAY JUNE 27

SWANSONS 1-2 IN ROSEVILLE 50-LAPPER

JoJo Helberg of Rohnert Park, Calif. is the new point leader in the USAC Western Sprint Car Series after finishing third in Saturday night’s 50-lap feature event at the All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif. The series returns to the 1/3-mile paved oval June 27.

Brothers Kody and Tanner Swanson of Kingsburg, Calif. swept the top two positions in Saturday’s race. Kody took the lead from Helberg on the 32nd lap and led the rest of the way in his TK Motorsports entry to beat Tanner, Helberg, Brian McClish and Eric Humphries.

Humphries led the first seven laps of the race and ranks fifth in the new series standings.

Four drivers have “swept” the podium finishes in the first three races on the calendar. In addition to the Swansons, who both have a win and a second on their 2009 resumes, Helberg has a win and two thirds, while Brian McClish, third in the new points, has a second and a third.
