TANNER SWANSON HEADS TO ROSEVILLE WITH 25-POINT LEAD

KODY SWANSON WINS 50-LAPPER IN SALT LAKE CITY


Kingsburg, Calif. racers Kody and Tanner Swanson completed a 1-2 sweep for the TK Motorsports team in Saturday night’s 50-lap USAC Western/Young Automotive Rocky Mountain Sprint race at Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City, Utah.


 


Tanner continues to lead the Western Sprint Car standings, 25 points ahead of Brian McClish going into this Saturday night’s race at All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif. Tanner won the opening race of 2009 and has a victory and two seconds at the Roseville oval this season.


 


Kody won the Salt Lake City race, leading the final 46 laps after passing Ryan Burdett on lap five. Mike Murgoitio, Jim Waters and Tony Hunt rounded out the “top-five” at the checkered flag. Kody set a new 1-lap track qualifying record of 13.582 seconds during qualifying!


 


Tanner and Kody Swanson have won two of the three Roseville races this year, Tony Hunt of Lincoln, Calif. is the most recent winner at All American Speedway and could be a top threat for victory Saturday.


 


Murgoitio emerged from Saturday night’s race with a 30-point margin over Waters in the new USAC Young Automotive Rocky Mountain Sprint standings. The next Rocky Mountain race is August 9 at Rocky Mountain Raceways.
