SULYI WINS, TAKES OVER USAC EASTERN FOCUS MIDGET POINT LEAD

Hudson, North Carolina (September 30, 2023)………Logan Sulyi had two reasons to be thrilled following Saturday’s USAC Eastern Focus Midget event at Hudson, North Carolina’s Tri-County Speedway.

First, the Raleigh, N.C. native scored his second series feature victory of the 2023 season.  Secondly, his performance pushed him to the top of the championship point standings with one race remaining.

Throughout much of the 35-lap main event, the battle was between the top drivers in the series standings – Sulyi and fast qualifier J.T. Bierman (Bath, Pa.).  Sulyi led the first 22 before Bierman took control on laps 23-30.  With five laps to go, Bierman fell to the wayside, out of the race with an 8th place result.

Following Sulyi to the line were Keegan Walmer (Concord, N.C.), Chris Lamb (Colfax, N.C.) and Hunter Wise (Allentown, Pa.) while John Gauge Kimler (Greensboro, N.C.) rounded out the top-five.
