GARDNER WINS "JACK KINDOLL CLASSIC"

Perris, CA

Damion Gardner of Concord, Calif. scored his 34th career Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint car victory in Saturday night's 30-lap "Jack Kindoll Classic" at the Perris Auto Speedway. Fighting off repeated challenges from Cole Whitt, Gardner led all but six laps to win the race in his Leffler Racing Team ASE Beast/Stanton Mopar. David Cardey finished second ahead of Whitt, Danny Sheridan and Greg Bragg. Chad Boat was the fastest of 31 qualifiers. Series point leader Mike Spencer finished 14th but emerged from the race with a comfortable 94-point lead over Blake Miller, who was 17th Saturday. The Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series concludes November 29 with the "Glenn Howard Memorial" at the PAS.
