BEAN WINS EASTERN SPEED2 MIDGET OPENER AT ORANGE COUNTY

Rougemont, North Carolina (June 13, 2020)………Three-time and defending champion Jessica Bean captured the victory in the 2020 USAC Eastern SpeeD2 Midget season opener Saturday night at Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, N.C.

The win was the Farmland, Ind. native’s fourth-straight in the series dating back to the end of the 2019 season.  That’s the second longest winning streak in series history behind Nolan Allison’s five consecutive victories during the 2017 season.

Hunter Wise (Allentown, Pa.) led the opening lap before Chris Lamb (Colfax, N.C.), an Orange County winner in 2018 and 2019, dominated up front past the midway point.

Just two laps past the halfway point, Bean, who had earlier set the fastest qualifying time during time trials, zipped to the front and led the remaining 14 laps to score the victory, her second with the series at the 3/8-mile paved oval after a previous victory in 2017.

Lamb finished second behind Bean, while Bradley Swift (Nashville, Tenn.) took third, Wise fourth, Daytona Spicola (Pueblo, Colo.) fifth and Mason Hoskins (Hendersonville, Tenn.) sixth.
