IMRA RELEASES 2019 SEASON SCHEDULE
Speedway, Indiana (January 7, 2019)………The USAC Engler IMRA Speed2 Midgets have released their 2019 schedule of events, which kicks off April 20 at Spoon River Speedway in Canton, Ill.
Spoon River serves as the home track for the series with 18 dates at the 3/8-mile dirt oval, with subsequent races scheduled for April 27, May 4-18-26, June 8-15-29, July 6-13-20, August 3-17-24 and September 1-7-28.
Special events held by the IMRA at Spoon River include a Double Header Weekend Special on May 26, the 3rd Annual Aaron Hull Memorial on September 7 and the Rail Splitter Nationals on September 28, which serves as the season finale.
Additional venues on the slate are a stop at Lincoln (Ill.) Speedway on May 25, Macon (Ill.) Speedway on June 1 and two visits to Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa on July 27 and September 14. The August 31 date is TBA.
Andy Baugh, of Mason City, Ill., is the reigning IMRA Midget champion and led the series in 2018 with five victories. Mitchell Davis won three while Shane Morgan, Korey Weyant and Chase McDermand picked off two apiece. Gedd Ross, Robby McQuinn, Chett Gehrke and Sean Murphy each collected one win on the season.
