IGNITES AT GAS CITY, MONTPELIER, ELMA & VICTORVILLE;ELLIOTT WINS AT BAKERSFIELD
 
The Midwest Ignite Midget Series concludes this weekend, while the Northwest and Western series continue with races as well.
 
Gas City (Ind.) I-69 Speedway hosts Friday night’s Midwest race, while the series finale is Saturday night at Montpelier (Ind.) Motor Speedway. The Northwest Ignites are at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Wash. and the Western Ignites are at Route 66 Motorplex in Victorville, Calif., both Saturday.
 
Ross Rankine of Willard, Ohio, this year’s Midwest Pavement Champion, also leads the Dirt standings going into this weekend’s finales. He has a 58-point lead over Toby Alfrey with more than 130 points available.
 
Cory Elliott of Bakersfield, Calif. scored another “home track” victory in Saturday night’s 25-lap Western dirt race at Bakersfield Speedway. He took the lead from Michael Steele on lap two and led the rest of the way to take the checkered flag ahead of Parker Colston, Christine Breckenridge, Wally Pankratz and Ashley Hazelton.
 
Elliott leads the Western dirt standings going into Saturday’s race at Victorville.
