USAC ANNOUNCES PACIFIC NORTHWEST REGION

Speedway IN………The United States Auto Club announced today the formation of the new Northwest Region which will join the Utah Region as a separate component of USAC's Western States Operations. The new region will include those states located in the extreme Northwest portion of the country and will provide a regional structure for USAC's present and future racing series and activities in the Pacific Northwest.

"We are very pleased to be bringing the USAC brand back to the Pacific Northwest" said Tommy Hunt, USAC's Vice President of Western Operations. "We are currently working with people and organizations in the region who are interested in all of our divisions and we are developing programs with them that we feel will complement the racing programs already in place in the Northwest. We are discussing many opportunities for all our products but it seems that our Developmental Series is getting the most attention at the moment."

The USAC Developmental Series includes the Mopar .25 Quarter Midgets, Young Guns Ford Focus Midgets, and full Ford Focus Midgets. "Our Developmental Series is a unique concept that presents the aspiring young race driver with the most organized and industry recognized career path in American Motorsports today while at the same time offering a cost effective series for the weekend sportsman racer,", added Mike McCluney, USAC Western Director of Developmental Racing.

Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Washington became the first Northwest participant in the USAC Developmental Series yesterday when they announced USAC sanctioning for their Ford Focus Midget program.

USAC Racing sanctions events in several divisions and classes and is the most diversified sanctioning motorsports organization in the world, conducting nearly 300 events annually.
