FOCUSES JOIN MIDGETS AT NORTH VERNON JUNE 11

TO AUGMENT “INDIANA MIDGET WEEK” PROGRAM

USAC’s Midwest Ford Focus Midgets are heading for Twin Cities Raceway Park June 11 to join the USAC Mopar National Midgets for the second round of this year’s popular “Indiana Midget Week.”

This race becomes the fourth for the Midwest Ford Focuses on the dirt this year after a brief hiatus. The revival of Ford Focus dirt racing in the Midwest includes three events at Gas City I-69 Speedway and this new addition at North Vernon. Race number one at Gas City was won by Ronnie Wuerdeman.

The event at the 3/8-mile dirt serves as round two of the “Indiana Midget Week” series, which moved from last year’s July scheduling to June this year.

Twin Cities Raceway Park will be hosting its first “Indiana Midget Week” event, although the track has played host to a dozen “Indiana Sprint Week” races through the years. Jay Drake won the last USAC Midget race at North Vernon in 2000.
