CONCORD, STOCKTON, SALT LAKE CITY & BAKERSFIELD HOST FOCUSES

WALMER, PETERSON WIN BUT RAIN TAKES 2 EASTERN EVENTS

USAC Ford Focus racing is planned in Utah, North Carolina and California this weekend. Thursday night’s program at the Concord (N.C.) Motor Speedway features the Eastern Ford Focus and Focus Young Guns, while Western participants are gearing up for Saturday night races in Bakersfield, Calif. (dirt) and Stockton, Calif. (pavement) and the Utah series continues with a Saturday night appearance at Rocky Mountain Raceways in the Utah capital.

Keegan Walmer and Garrett Peterson earned victories last Saturday night at All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif. Walmer won in both series and Peterson also scored a feature win in the Ford Focuses, which conducted a pair of features.

Peterson, of Sacramento, Calif., led all 40 laps of the first Ford Focus race to beat Walmer, Tanner Long, Sheldon Didinger and Jessica Clark. In the 25-lap nightcap feature, Walmer, of Portland, Ore., led all 25 laps to beat Clark, Kyle Bailey, Long and Alex Jacobsen. Clark continues atop the Western Ford Focus standings.

Walmer passed Sheldon Didinger on lap three and led the rest of the 20-lap Focus Young Guns feature to beat Trevor Hunt, James Eden and Didinger to the checkered flag.

Rain and inclement weather forecasts forced postponements of two Eastern Ford Focus events, at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, N.C. Friday and Hickory, N.C. Saturday.
