“SALT CITY 78” FINALE OCTOBER 10 AT SYRACUSE

“SALT CITY 78” FINALE OCTOBER 10 AT SYRACUSE;

BELL GRABS 1ST SILVER CROWN WIN AT “4-CROWN NATIONALS”

Kody Swanson’s runner-up finish in Saturday’s “4-Crown Nationals” feature at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio left him with a 124-point lead over Jerry Coons Jr. with only 66 points available in the “Salt City 78” October 10 series finale at Syracuse, N.Y. That assures Kody of a second consecutive USAC Silver Crown series championship.

Christopher Bell of Norman, Okla. dominated Saturday’s 50-lap “4-Crown” race, leading from wire-to-wire in his RPM Auto Enterprise JEI/Foxco. Trailing second-place Swanson were Chris Windom, Shane Cottle and Brady Bacon.

Bell also claimed the $200 cash prize posted by ProSource for earning the pole starting position.

Swanson enters the Syracuse finale as the defending race champion. The race is part of the track’s NAPA “Super Dirt Week” activities.
