MOPAR .25 MIDGET DRIVERS GET RARE OPPORTUNITY

WITH IZOD INDYCAR DRIVERS IN OPENING CEREMONIES AT LAS VEGAS

Race fans at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend will be viewing IZOD IndyCar drivers as they parade in vehicles prior to Sunday’s IZOD IndyCar World Championship race, but beside each will be a rising star from USAC’s Mopar .25 Midget Series! The Mopar .25 Midgets are competing on an oval adjacent to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Bullring this weekend as part of their Western World Mopar .25 Midget Championship.

S2000 pace cars will take to the track during the opening ceremonies Sunday and the occupants will get a full lap around the one and one-half mile paved oval, waving to race fans from around the world on hand for the IZOD IndyCar Series finale! Tickets to Sunday’s race are being provided to participating Mopar .25 Midget families, free of charge.

In addition, a Mopar .25 Midget is scheduled to be on display at the INDYCAR Fan Zone at the Mandalay Bay Hotel on the famous Las Vegas Strip on Friday.

Friday’s on-track activity will be limited to practice, while heat races, lower mains and A mains will be conducted on Saturday, to be followed by victory lane ceremonies. Sunday is reserved as a rain date if needed.

“Las Vegas has always been a popular destination for vacations and especially so now with all the youth-related additions to the city’s entertainment packages,” says USAC’s James Spink. “It’s a thrill for our participants to be a part of what will undoubtedly be one of our most memorable weekends. We have had a great relationship with LVMS and this special event will be a great addition to the weekend’s excitement for race fans. The ride-around will offer our drivers an unprecedented, unique opportunity to meet and spend some time with their IndyCar heroes.”
