ATLANTA RAIN YIELDS MOPAR .25 MID-ATLANTIC CHAMPS

 


Champions of the 2k11 USAC Mid-Atlantic Series for Mopar .25 Midgets were solidified following the rainout of the third and final racing program at Metro Atlanta last weekend.


 


The series encompassed races at Nashville, Tenn. in March and at Salisbury, N.C. in April, plus the event rained out at Atlanta, Ga. where registered participants were awarded appearance points.


 


Participants who competed in all three events and finished in the top-three in the standings are eligible for year-end prizes and awards.


 


Champions of the respective classes included three  drivers who claimed two titles apiece. They were Nolan Allison of Greensboro, N.C. (Senior Honda and Light 160), Harrison Burton of Huntersville, N.C. (Senior Animal and Light World Formula) and Ryan Israel of Concord, N.C. (Junior Honda and Junior Animal).


 


Michael Atwell of Naples, Fla. was named co-champion along with Burton in the Senior Animal class.


 


Other champions were Calvin Carroll of Andover, N.J. (Mod) Adam Thomason of Carmel, IN (Heavy World Formula), Mark Miller of Mooresville, N.C. (Heavy 160) and Jordan Smithson of Mooresville, NC (Heavy Honda).


 


USAC’s Mopar .25 Midget “Generation Next” championships conclude the weekend of September 23-24 in concert with USAC’s “4-Crown Nationals” at Tony Stewart’s “Little E” oval, adjacent to the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.
