SCENARIOS ABOUND IN PENULTIMATE DMA RACE

This Saturday’s penultimate 2013 USAC DMA Midget race at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, Vt. offers so many title scenarios they are difficult to document.

The series concludes September 28 but five drivers are mathematically in the title chase going into this Saturday’s race.

Inaugural series champion Joe Krawiec has a tenuous two-point lead over defending champion Kevin Chaffee, while Scott Viets sits just 22 back of the leader. Red-hot Adam Pierson has bolted into title contention and is only 23 points out of the lead, while Josh Sunn is 49 back in fifth.

Pierson’s five wins are by far the most this year. Actually nobody else has been able to repeat and none of the three point leaders has been able to score a victory! Sunn is one of five drivers with a single win.

Since 74 points are on the table this Saturday, any of the five could feasibly be on top of the standings entering the finale.
