RADER DETECTS FOURTH USAC MTM WIN IN FOUR STARTS AT MONTPELIER

Montpelier, Indiana (September 24, 2022)………Make it four races and four feature wins for Drew Rader on the USAC Midwest Thunder SpeeD2 Midget trail.

The Findlay, Ohio racer continued his streak of success at the 1/4-mile dirt oval with his third consecutive Montpelier (Ind.) Motor Speedway victory on Saturday afternoon after leading all 20 laps.  Rader captured each of the last two series visits to the track on July 30 and August 27 as well.

It’s his fourth victory overall on the season with the series, all of which have come in his four starts, also garnering a “W” at Ohio’s Fremont Speedway in July to start the streak.

Ian Creager (Troy, Ohio) ran second to Rader while Josh Yenser (Belpre, Ohio) grabbed third and Bryce Massingill (Troy, Ohio) took fourth.  Carl Peterson (Waterford Township, Mich.) collected a fifth.

While Stratton Briggs’ impeccable 17-straight top-five finish streak came to an end on this night, he maintained a hefty 138-point lead in the championship standings by virtue of his sixth place result.

Briggs was one of three drivers to get upside down on Saturday.  Briggs flipped during the first heat while both Jakeb Boxell and Michael Magic took separate tumbles during the feature.
