Looks like the QXX forum has been blocked, and is being sensored for content anyhow, so I would like to suggest that as this new organization moves forward that some thought should be put into costs. By this I mean, as I progressed through Quarter Midget racing, I saw foolish rules come about, not really due to maliciusness, but mainly because of the inexperience of those making them, something I don't see happening here because the sancioning body has been around for quite some time, here goes:
1) The so called "affordable classes" should not have components made of Money-tainium example: $475 engine $1,100 rear axle.
2) Local modifieds here (affordable class) have a shock rule: Any steel body shock with list price of $XXX or less, some of the Quarter Midget shocks are worth more than the car.
3) Tires, Tires have been a real issue in recent years, something needs to be done, I don't know what, but there are several ways of approacing this.
4) Take A real look at Quarter Midget racing, in recent years, failed attempts have been made to keep older (read that Heavier) drivers in the sport, (See sentence#2). Injection of humor: What's the difference between God and the National Board? Ok, you know that one.
Lastly, please don't take my suggestions to mean that I want to rid Quarter Midget racing of those more fortunate than I , (and there are many!) but just that they should be paired with those on equal footing. You want to race "Mod","B" and "A" and go all out, then have at it. For those that want to have the latest, greatest, there should be a class for them to experiment with the newest "Widget" and refine it's design, after all these are how things trickle done to the Affordable classes in the end.
