Per QMA recently updated 120 tech manual, bottom of page 9.

"E. SPECIAL NOTE; THAILAND HEADS MAY NOT BE USED AT ANY GRAND EVENT IN ANY 120 CLASS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF NOVICE"

Thanks to USAC and all others involved that made the decision to park the Thai motor before this kind of issue came up and cost membership more $$$$

Why would QMA allow them at any race other than the Grands? If they are not legal and fair for the grands how can they be legal or fair at a local or regional event.  I am sure there will be more issues as they begin to race them more and more this year.   WOW

I too am glad that USAC didnt go down this path with the Honda engine.

Because as we have always been told in novice....they don't' "keep score." Heard it everytime there was a bad start or botched lineup last season. Try telling the kids that haha.

QMA is taking this statement off. It was put on by error per QMA. They are allowing the Thailand head.

Per my honda engine builder, the 120's are not any different, only the 160's have an advantage.  Anyone hearing differently?

From the differences I've read there is no possible way the two motors perform the same. Who's your motor builder?

It appears the "other racing organization" has updated their tech manual again and the wording in question doesn't appear to be there anymore.
