The thai 120 will not pass tech. Carb size and head design.

The carb issue is pretty easy to resolve...swap it out with one that isn't too small. HOLD THE PHONES HERE...I just checked the tech manual from USAC and it doesn't say anything about minimum sizes on the carb, only maximums. How could it be too small to pass tech if there isn't a minimum in the manual?
Whats up with the head design that will cause it to fail tech?

USAC posted a bulletin regarding the 160 from Thailand being illegal back in October, but there has been no update from USAC regarding the legality of the 120s. Several members have said they are illegal, but that hasn't come from USAC that I have seen.
As was stated above, why are the 120s illegal?

Thx so no to the 160's. My understanding is that the Thai 120's are dyno'ing stronger than the Jap 120 and have some of the same issues as the 160's, so why not illegal?

Just one of the biggest problems with both of the engines is in the head. I would NOT expect to see a change in the specs to allow the new engine. I would think we will have an announcement from USAC anyday that will give all reasons for this decision.

What is meant by stronger? More than 1/2 to 3/4 hp?? Sounds to me like it could be political and trying to force everyone to Animal..
