Best tire changer?
«

Hi all,
I need a recommendation on tire changers. I tried the Northern Tools small changer, and it's more hassle than it's worth. Do you know of anything easier to use?
Anyone tried the Turbo Tire Changer? Tire Wizz? Tire Pry'r?
Thanks all!

Two motorcycle tire bars for $12.95 is all you need, dismount and mount a RR in less than 2 minutes.

This is more expensive than $13.00, but it makes changing tires effortless. One of the best purchases we made...

Changing tires is an art form. It just takes a little practice...then it gets pretty easy. I've witnessed an experienced handler mount and dismount a set of tires using nothing but a couple of screw drivers faster than a guy using a $1,100 tire changer.
The best investment I made was a quick email to Scott Goffin to ask if he'd show me what I was doing wrong next time we were in Columbus. Get with an experienced handler...you'll be glad you did.
We tried the Tire Wizz...hated it! I'll make you a great deal on one with the 5" and 6" inserts if you're interested.
We use, and sell, the tire changer that Scott references above. I like it because it locks the wheel in place so I can push the tire on the rim. Once the wheel is secure, mounting is simple. I only use the handle to dismount as it is not really needed for mounting. We sell it for $59.99 if you're interested. Again, it's more of a "nice to have" than a "must have".

I have mounted tires faster and with less effort than it takes some people to use those other contraptions... Practice makes perfect and if you don’t try and fight the tire it’s a breeze.
The Hoosier guy at the USAC Nationals dismounted my RR tire in his arms with only his hands so he could take it with him, no tire bars, just his hands! I prefer the tire bars just so I don’t break any nails… LOL
