Thanks for the memories, JP.  God be with you until we meet again. 

No matter what you ran, you were near the top as long as the equipment held together.  From the stock car at Ascot in 1964 through midgets, sprints, championship cars, you carried the cars as far as they would go. 

Strapping Dana and Pancho into those push-carts was fun until Mom found us.  Racing bicycles around the grade school and ball diamonds was fun until school officials heard about the races.  Racing bicycles around Westlake quarter midget track was exciting.  Did we get chased from there, too.  Ironing Eldora was rather mundane until that guy rammed our left rear.  The drive home was tedious.  The repairs were hidden until Dad checked the books about a month later.

Thanks for taking me in that May morning in 1954.
