DON WHITE, 89, PASSES

Keokuk, Iowa........Don White, the Keokuk, Iowa driver who scored more victories (53) in USAC Stock Car history than anyone else, passed away April 29 at the age of 89. The two-time USAC Stock Car Champion (1963 and 1967) was inducted into the USAC Hall of Fame in 2013. His first USAC win came at the Terre Haute (Ind.) Action Track in 1959 and his final win came at the DuQuoin (Ill.) State Fairgrounds in 1978. He also captured three IMCA Stock Car titles (1954, 1955 and 1958). His career wins also included 11 in the American Racing Club of America (ARCA) when the sanctioning body was known as MARC. He started a dozen NASCAR races as well. Last year he reminisced about his career and remembered: "I raced against the best as far as I'm concerned. I remember beating all of them more than they ever beat me!" USAC extends its sincerest condolences to the entire White family and his many friends in the motorsports community.
