USAC REGIONAL RACING PREVIEW: AUG. 1-2, 2020

 

WINGLESS SPRINTS OKLAHOMA

Crawford County Speedway in Van Buren, Arkansas makes its debut on the USAC Wingless Sprints Oklahoma schedule this Saturday night, August 1. 

Never before has the series visited the state of Arkansas.  Three different winners have been produced in the series’ first four races of 2020.  Noah Gass (Mounds, Okla.), Brett Wilson (Coweta, Okla.) and Wyatt Burks (Topeka, Kans.) each took their turn in victory lane during the month of June.

Wilson, meanwhile, became the season’s first repeat winner with a victory on July 18 at Oklahoma’s Salina Highbanks Speedway.

Saturday at Crawford County, pits open at 4:30pm CT and front gates open at 6pm with the USAC/WSO driver meeting taking place at 6pm and hot laps at 7:30pm.

ENGLER IMRA SPEED2 MIDGETS

A doubleheader weekend takes the USAC Engler IMRA SpeeD2 Midget series to an Iowa/Illinois double-dip this Saturday and Sunday night, August 1-2.

The series begins the weekend on Saturday night, August 1 Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa for their third and final appearance at the track this season.  Point leader Andy Baugh (Mason City, Ill.) and Bryan Stanfill (Brea, Calif.) have each won the previous two series events at the track this season.

Saturday at Lee County, the pits open at 4pm CT with the drivers meeting set for 5:40pm and hot laps at 6pm with racing to follow.

To round up the weekend action, IMRA visits Quad City Speedway in East Moline, Ill. for the first time ever on Sunday, August 2.  Pit gates open at 2:30pm CT with the drivers meeting at 5:15pm and hot laps at 5:30pm with racing to follow.
