LABOR DAY "MID-ATLANTIC" MOPAR .25 MIDGET FINALE AT ATLANTA

LABOR DAY “MID-ATLANTIC” MOPAR .25 MIDGET FINALE AT ATLANTA

The 2011 USAC Mopar .25 “Mid-Atlantic Championship” concludes Labor Day, September 5, at the Metro Atlanta Quarter Midget Club track in Georgia. Drivers competing in all three “Mid-Atlantic” championship races this year are eligible for year-end prizes and awards. The previous two rounds were conducted at Nashville, Tenn. in March and at Salisbury, N.C. in April hosted by the Music City and North Carolina Quarter Midget Associations respectively.

Exhibition races are also planned for USAC Mopar .25 Midget participants at the Atlanta Motor Speedway on their Sprint Cup weekend and free tickets to NASCAR’s Great Clips 300 Nationwide Series race at AMS will also be available for USAC’s Mopar .25 Midget families. Drivers eligible for the exhibition races at AMS are those who competed in three of the four “summer sizzler” events at Metro Atlanta.

"We would like to thank Greg Thomas and the folks at Great Clips for this exciting Labor Day weekend of racing in Atlanta in conjunction with the Great Clips 300 at Atlanta Motor Speedway," says USAC’s James Spink. “Since Monday is a holiday, racing starts at 8 am and should be concluded by 5 pm so families can return home at a decent hour.”

Practice will be open on both Saturday (Sept. 3) and Sunday (Sept. 4) at Metro Atlanta for those drivers who want a tune-up for Monday’s finale.

"We've enjoyed this series created by USAC and the competition which has come from across the country,” added MAQMA President J.L. Tullis. “It will be interesting to see who rises to the top in this mid-atlantic based series finale."
