CRA “OFF” UNTIL OCTOBER 6 AT THE PAS; SPENCER TAKES “GLENN HOWARD MEMORIAL”

The AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Cars take the next two weeks off, awaiting an October 6 date at the Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway.

Mike Spencer’s point lead in the series expanded after his sixth PAS victory of the season Saturday night. The Temecula, Calif. driver led the final 25 laps of the “Glenn Howard Classic” to beat Richard Vander Weerd, Rip Williams, Nic Faas and David Cardey. Williams led the first five laps of the race.

Spencer is closing in on all-time Perris USAC/CRA feature winner Damion Gardner after scoring his 23rd career PAS triumph. Gardner has 25 to lead the all-time list.

Gardner holds the single-season Perris USAC/CRA victory record, winning nine features in 2005.
