TANNER SWANSON COMPLETES MADERA “SWEEP” WITH SPRINT “50”

Tanner Swanson, fresh from Saturday night’s 50-lap feature win at Madera, Calif., takes a 43-point lead over Brian McClish into the next USAC Western Sprint race, September 5 at Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Swanson completed a “sweep” of Saturday night’s USAC racing program at Madera by winning the 50-lap Western Sprint race. The Kingsburg, Calif. driver had previously won the 25-lap Ford Focus feature.

In the Sprint race, Swanson took the lead from JoJo Helberg on lap 33, relinquished it to Kody Swanson on lap 36, then regained it for the final 14 laps in his TK Motorsports entry. Kody took second ahead of Tony Hunt, McClish and Eric Humphries.

The September 5 race at Salt Lake City concludes the 2009 USAC Young Automotive Rocky Mountain Sprint Car series.
