Tanner Swanson of Kingsburg, Calif. and Mike Murgoitio of Boise, Idaho lead their respective USAC Sprint car series standings entering Saturday night’s USAC Western/Young Automotive Rocky Mountain Sprint race at Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Swanson is on top of the Western Sprint Car Series after a victory, two seconds and a fourth in four starts this season. Murgoitio is the Rocky Mountain leader with two wins, a second and a sixth in four starts.

JoJo Helberg of Rohnert Park, Calif. is virtually tied with Swanson for the Western Sprint lead after posting a win, two thirds and a fifth in his four appearances.

Former Rocky Mountain king Jim Waters trails Murgoitio by only 31 points in the USAC/SLVRA standings, while Ryan Burdett and Brian McClish are also in the hunt for the 2009 title.
