ROCKY MOUNTAIN SPRINTS TRY AGAIN SATURDAY

ROCKY MOUNTAIN SPRINTS TRY AGAIN SATURDAY

The USAC Young Automotive Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series will try again this Saturday to open its 2011 campaign after snowy conditions forced cancellation of the series opener April 30.

Defending series champ Jimmy Wysong leads in terms of career USAC wins at the America First Credit Union Super Oval. He’s won 17 races there, compared to the 14 wins posted by two-time series titlist Jim Waters.

Tony Hunt of Lincoln, Calif. won the first USAC Sprint race at the Salt Lake City track in 1999.

Ryan Burdett, the 2007 champion, won three of the last four Sprint races at Salt Lake City last season.
