ROCKY MOUNTAIN SPRINTS "OFF" UNTIL JULY 25

MURGOITIO RETURNS TO WINNERS CIRCLE AT RMR

Mike Murgoitio continues to lead a tight battle for the 2009 USAC/SLVRA Young Automotive Rocky Mountain Sprint Car championship. He has a slim 31-point lead over Jim Waters, but Ryan Burdett trails by only 37 and Brian McClish is just 42 back with a total of 76 points available per race.

The series resumes July 25 at Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Murgoitio returned to victory lane Saturday night at RMR, winning the 40-lap feature over McClish, Burdett, Jeff Bergener and Tony Hunt. Murgoitio took the lead from McClish on lap 31 in his GM Land & Cattle Eagle and led the final 10 laps for the win. McClish led 22 laps and Bergener led eight before Murgoitio took over.
