HANSEN WIRE-TO-WIRE IN “PACIFIC COAST NATIONALS” OPENER

Tulare, CA…….USAC Western Midget point leader Garrett Hansen of Manhattan Beach, Calif. led all 30 laps to win Saturday night’s ‘Pacific Coast Nationals” opener at Thunderbowl Raceway. The two-night USAC National and Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint Car program concludes Sunday night with another 30-lapper at the third-mile dirt oval. Hansen took the lead at the drop of the green flag in his Roy Miller Freightlines/Hansen’s Welding Maxim/Chevy and held off repeated challenges from Cory Kruseman to score the win. Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint point leader Mike Spencer took third, ahead of USAC National Sprint leader Levi Jones and fast qualifier Bryan Clauson. Spencer’s finish left him with a 115 point lead over David Cardey in the new Lucas Oil USAC/CRA standings.
