Mike Spencer of Temecula, Calif. takes a 92-point lead into this Saturday night's Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint Car race at Ventura (Calif.) Raceway. He finished sixth and 12th in last weekend's "Louie Vermeil Classic" features at the Calistoga (Calif.) Speedway.

Blake Miller, third in the current points behind Spencer and Garrett Hansen, won one of last year's three Ventura races, while fifth-ranking Cory Kruseman also won at his "home" track in 2007. Scotty Weir also won at Ventura last year.

Kevin Swindell, of Germantown, Tenn. passed Bill Rose on lap five and led the final 26 laps of Sunday night's "Louie Vermeil Classic" Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint race at Calistoga, concluding the two-night USAC racing extravaganza at the 1/2-mile dirt oval. Swindell piloted the Tom Rolfe Trucking/Honey Run Quilters Maxim/Ott and was trailed at the checkered flag by Jesse Hockett, Saturday's Calistoga Sprint winner Tim Kaeding, Damion Gardner and Miller. Hockett, who also finished second Saturday, was Sunday's fastest Sprint qualifier.

Tim and Brent Kaeding finished first and third in Saturday night's 30-lap "Louie Vermeil Classic" Sprint race at Calistoga. Tim trailed Hockett for 20 laps, then led the final 10 in his HR Cattle/DTR Trucking JEI/Kistler. Hockett finished second ahead of Brent Kaeding, Swindell and Miller.
