SUPER SCHUDY SAILS TO VICTORY AT I-35

Winston, Missouri (June 12, 2021)………Twenty-six USAC Wholesale Batteries Midwest Wingless Association Sprint Cars invaded I-35 Speedway in Winston, Mo. for a full night of racing Saturday night.

When the dust settled, it was Battlefield, Missouri’s Kory Schudy taking the win in the JSR #28 owned by Jon Sawyer, and wrenched by Kris Schudy, who took an impressive win.

Wesley Smith finished second in the John Helm Racing/WSR #12, Zach Clark 3rd, Wyatt Burks in the Rumsey #11w was 4th and Luke Howard rounded out the top-five, finishing 5th.

For Schudy, it was his first MWRA win since 2020 after twice finishing second this season. Kory’s big W also represented the fifth different winner during the MWRA season through the first five races,

Action throughout the field on this night led to other impressive results as well. Olathe, Kan. driver Zach Clark in the #26 had a great night with the MWRA, winning his heat by outlasting defending champ Burks for a career best 3rd place run with the MWRA.

Overland Park, Kan. teenager “Cool Hand Luke” Howard also had a career night racing with the MWRA, running in the top-five. The 17-year-old drove for the first time the car number #2H painted with the legendary Dick Howard maroon and gold shield livery, running to his best result so far in the series.

While Kearney, Mo.’s Zach Sanders in the #69 was relegated to the B Feature after making contact with Wyatt Burks at the end of the third heat race. The former modified winner at I-35 then put on the performance of the night, winning the B, and then charging up to 5th place at one point in the A before coming home in 6th place, blowing a tire at the finish line.

For his efforts, the other half of the “Zach Attach” (Saunders and Clark) took home an extra $100 bucks for the Hard Charger award courtesy of Dan Lawson and Design Source Flooring.

The MWRA is next in action on Saturday night, June 19 when the USAC USAC Midwest Racing Association travels to Warrensburg, Missouri to race at Central Missouri Speedway.
