USAC REGIONAL RACING PREVIEW: JULY 24-25, 2020

 

RAPID TIRE EAST COAST SPRINT CARS

The USAC Rapid Tire East Coast Sprint Cars are back on track this Friday night, July 24, at Georgetown Speedway in Georgetown, Delaware.

Steven Drevicki (Reading, Pa.) won the last series event held at the track last September.  Drevicki has won the first two rounds of the 2020 season in July at New York’s Orange County Fair Speedway and Pennsylvania’s Big Diamond Speedway and leads the standings entering the race.

Chris Allen Jr. (Wrightstown, N.J.) was victorious in the other 2019 East Coast race at Georgetown in April.

Pits and grandstands open at 5pm ET with hot laps set for 6:40pm and racing to follow.  Modifieds and Late Models will also be among the series in action.

General admission tickets are $20 for adults, $16 for students age 13-17 and those are age 65-plus.  Kids age ids 9-12 are $10 and children 8 and under are free.  Pit passes are $35 for adults, $10 for kids age 6-12 and $2 for children age 5 and under.

ENGLER IMRA SPEED2 MIDGETS

Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa welcome the Engler IMRA SpeeD2 Midgets for a second time during the 2020 season this Friday night, July 24.

Two-time and defending series champion Andy Baugh (Mason City, Ill.) won at Lee County on May 23 and enters the event as the point leader.  Baugh also won at Spoon River Speedway in Canton, Ill., and is the only multi-time winner with the series thus far in 2020.

Cody Gerdes (Eureka, Ill.) and Bryan Stanfill (Brea, Calif.) have also scored IMRA victories, both at Spoon River.

Gates open at 5:30pm CT with hot laps at 7pm and racing to follow.  IMCA Late Models, Modifieds, stock cars, sport mods and sport compacts are on the card.

Grandstand tickets are $10 for adults, $9 for seniors age 60-plus, $5 for students age 11-17, $5 for veterans and free for kids 10 and under.  Pit passes are $30 for adults, $20 for children ages 7-13, $10 for kids ages 4-6 and $5 for little ones ages 3 and under.

WHOLESALE BATTERIES MIDWEST WINGLESS RACING ASSOCIATION SPRINT CARS

The Wholesale Batteries Midwest Wingless Racing Association Sprint Cars make their debut, and lone visit of the season, to Central Missouri Speedway in Warrensburg, Missouri this Saturday night, July 25.

Wyatt Burks (Topeka, Kans.) leads the standings on the strength of three wins in 2020 and is riding a streak of two consecutive wins coming in, both of which were in Missouri in Cameron and Winston.

Springfield, Mo.’s Kory Schudy (2nd in points), Lincoln, Nebraska’s Don Droud Jr. (3rd in points) and Billings, Missouri’s Wesley Smith (5th in points) have all won this year while Gladstone, Missouri’s Chris Parkinson (4th in points) remains on the hunt for win number one.

Pits open at 4:30pm CT, grandstands open at 5pm and driver pill draw closes at 6:15pm.  The drivers meeting is slated for 6:30pm with hot laps at 7pm with racing immediately following.

Also in action are the A-Mods, B-Mods and Mod-Lites.  General admission tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors 65 to 74 and active military w/I.D., kids ages 6-12 are $6, children five and under are free as are those who are confined to a wheelchair.  Those who are age 75 and over free.  Pit passes are $40.

USAC DMA SPEED2 MIDGETS

Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, Vermont is the home once again for the USAC DMA SpeeD2 Midgets this Saturday night, July 25.

Will Hull (Plainfield, Vt.) and Seth Carlson (Brimfield, Mass.) have won the first two rounds of the season, both at Bear Ridge.  It’s Carlson who leads the standings entering Saturday’s race.

Pits open at 3pm ET, gates open at 4pm and racing begins at 6pm. 

Pits open at 3pm ET and pits/gates at 4pm, drivers meeting at 5:45pm with racing slated for a 6pm start.  Also in action are the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, Wells River Chevrolet and Mike Estrada State Farm 4/6 Cylinder Enduro.

Adult general admission is $12, seniors 62+ are $10 and kids 11 and under are $2.  Pit passes are $25 each for members and $30 for non-members.
