ISAAC FORCES CANCELLATION OF DuQUOIN'S"TED HORN 100"

ISAAC FORCES CANCELLATION OF DuQUOIN’S “TED HORN 100”

Rains from tropical storm Isaac soaked the “Magic Mile” in DuQuoin, Ill., forcing cancellation of today’s “Ted Horn 100” USAC TRAXXAS Silver Crown race at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds.

The cancellation was only the third in the 64-year history of the race, which also suffered rainouts in 1962 and 2009.

The TRAXXAS USAC Silver Crown Series now prepares for its final two events, the September 22 “4-Crown Nationals” at the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio and the October 13 “Sumar Classic 100” at the Terre Haute (Ind.) Action Track.

Activities at the DuQuoin State Fair for Monday, including the 100-mile ARCA Stock Car race, remain on schedule.
