50TH"TONY BETTENHAUSEN 100" RESET FOR 2011

50TH “TONY BETTENHAUSEN 100” RESET FOR 2011

Track Enterprises, USAC and the Illinois State Fairgrounds regretfully announce the cancellation of the “Tony Bettenhausen 100” USAC Silver Crown Championship and UMP Modified race at the one-mile dirt Springfield oval. A reschedule date was unable to be found to fit all parties involved.

“Unfortunately, mother nature did not cooperate the day of the event and we exhausted all possible dates to try and reschedule the event,” said Bob Sargent of Track Enterprises. We now focus our attention on the September 5 “Ted Horn 100” at the DuQuoin (Ill.) State Fairgrounds Magic Mile, the next date for the USAC Silver Crown and UMP Modified series.”

The cancellation means a one-year postponement of the 50th running of the “Tony Bettenhausen 100,” which honors the late AAA and USAC National driving champion. The Springfield race, one of America’s most traditional motorsports events, dates back to 1934.

Tickets which had been purchased for the Springfield races can be mailed for refunds to Track Enterprises at P.O. Box 79, Macon, Ill. 62544. Please include your name, mailing address and telephone number. Ticket refund requests are also available to print out at www.trackenterprises.com.
