DICK POLE, 74, PASSES

Dick Pole, who hailed from Glenwood, Illinois during his racing career, has passed away at the age of 74. Having started as a USAC competitor as early as 1967, he won the 1982 USAC National Midget opener at Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Ind. and finished 21st in that series' final points. He passed away in Camden, Tenn. and services are planned Monday, Feb. 19 at the Oakdale Funeral Home in Camden from 10 am - 2 pm. USAC extends its sincerest condolences to his family and many friends within the racing community.
