ELLIOTT SCORES HANFORD MIDGET UPSET

The November 26 “Turkey Night Grand Prix” at Perris, Calif. concludes USAC’s 2015 calendar and brings down the curtain on a third consecutive Honda USAC Western Midget Championship for Norco, Calif. driver Ronnie Gardner.

Gardner took third in Saturday night’s 30-lap “Jim Evett Memorial” at Keller Auto Speedway at Kings Fairgrounds in Hanford, Calif., resulting in a 181-point cushion over second-ranking driver Shannon McQueen, who finished sixth at Hanford.

Cory Elliott of Bakersfield, Calif. earned his first series feature victory Saturday night in his Factory Kahne/Oilwize Special, leading all 30 laps for the victory. Sean Dodenhoff finished second ahead of Gardner, Michael Faccinto and Alex Schutte.
