KTJ BECOMES THIRD TEAM CAPTAIN TO WIN USAC KARTING ENDURO 4 TIMES!

Kevin Thomas Jr. of Cullman, Ala. returned to the podium Tuesday night as the Team Captain of the winning team in the 20th Annual USAC Benevolent Foundation’s 3-hour Pro-Am indoor karting event, held this year at Speedway Indoor Karting in Speedway, Ind.

After winning the 2013, 2014 and 2015 events at Fastimes in Indianapolis, Thomas led a veteran team of drivers which included some also recording their fourth victory in the event. The team members included Tyler Courtney, Kody Swanson, Tanner Thorson, Dalton Jones, Luke Durrett and Clinton Boyles.

Thomas, who anchored the “Tony Elliott Foundation” team, joins Tracy Hines (a five-time winner) and Ted Hines as the only Team Captains to win the event at least four times, a race which benefits the USAC Benevolent Foundation and is sponsored by the Tony Stewart Foundation.

C.J. Leary Racing, a team led by the 2016 Sumar Classic winner, finished second, with team members including Mick Gabriel, Chase Jones and Jimmy Simpson.

Team Marvel, captained by Brinton Marvel, included David Gravel, Zach Hampton, Brandon Johnson, Parker Price-Miller, Hunter Schuerenberg and Gage Walker, finished third.

A total of 10 teams competed in the race, with Tyler Courtney posting the fastest time of 32.582 seconds.
