CRA SPRINTS RESUME SATURDAY AT THE PAS
Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway once again hosts the AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Cars this Saturday and the series point lead will be up for grabs between at least a half-dozen drivers.
Four-time champion Damion Gardner, seeking a fourth consecutive title, has slipped into sixth in the standings after a rough start, but he’s only 41 behind point leader Brody Roa. In between, drivers Richard Vander Weerd, Jake Swanson, five-time champion Mike Spencer and Austin Williams all figure to be top challengers Saturday.
Roa has a trio of thirds and an eighth in four starts so far. Vander Weerd has a pair of seconds, while Swanson has a third as his best finish so far.
Spencer has three “top-5s” including a second and Williams notched his first 2016 victory at The PAS in the May 28 “Salute to Indy.”
Gardner had a second at Perris in April, but he has more Perris wins (37) and has led more Perris races (50) and laps (869) than anybody else.
